Connect-A-Dock announces rowing dock contest winner

Connect-A-Dock would like to announce the winner of their rowing dock contest, Mountain Lakes Crew Club of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey.  They were chosen from a group of national entries that were hoping to win a new 7’ 6” x 30’ 1000 Series-Low Profile modular floating dock.

Jordan was an avid rower at Cincinnati Country Day School during his freshman and sophomore years. His family moved to Mountain Lakes, N.J. in September 2006.  Upon moving to Northern New Jersey, Jordan was surprised that virtually no youth crew clubs existed and no high school crew teams had yet been formed. So he convinced his parents that they should form the Mountain Lakes Crew Club, since after all, Mountain Lakes has seven beautiful lakes that are an important part of the community’s identity.  Mountain Lakes is a town of 1500 families with many sports enthusiasts; football and lacrosse dominate all.

Against all odds, Jordan was able to recruit a group of enthusiastic, highly motivated, high school students to join the fledging club, and together they have embarked on an exciting journey. Mountain Lakes Crew Club came together…23 school high kids, 2 coaches and many zealous parents.   Jordan is dedicated and committed in making this inaugural season the beginning of a memorable journey. His passion is contagious and Mountain Lakes Crew Club’s success is inevitable.  Follow the crew’s  progress at www.themountainlakescrewclub.com.

Connect-A-Dock supports rowers and rowing. In an effort to show it’s support for the sport of rowing, Connect-A-Dock sponsored a contest giving rowing clubs a chance to win a new dock!  To enter, an essay of 500 words or less explaining why the rowing club wanted a new dock needed to be submitted.  Entrants were also encouraged to send photos of their current dock to illustrate how a new Connect-A-Dock would benefit them!

The Connect-A-Dock 1000 Series-Low Profile is the dock of choice for rowers around the world. Athletes and coaches appreciate the dock’s stability, which creates a safe platform for entering and exiting shells. This extra confidence allows rowers to concentrate on rowing, rather than worry about their footing.  Connect-A-Dock is the official dock of USRowing and Masters Rowing Association.
